Courage...
As you may already know friends, life is hard...we need courage, we have to be brave...even if we 're terrified...
I went through a lot, in my life, and let me tell ya that, most of the time, I had courage...
When I was kid, my parents always told me to stand up for what I believed in, to have the courage to fight and say "NO! I'm not in!" , "NO! I do not agree!"..."No! That's no IT and you will hear it!" ...I'm very thankful for that, because I've never been afraid to stand up against the "fighting forces of the world" (Ashley's words :))...never...it took me courage, at the beginning, because I was shy, I was afraid to be kind of a Fruit Loop in a world full of Cheerios...but at the end, it became
THE WAY I AM...Me...Trully me...
Was it difficult? Yes it was...some battles are harder than every others...Especially when you're only a kid...
Did I ever regret being brave, standing alone against what I disagreed --> NEVER!!
I remember when I was a teen, I had a friend who lived in a caravan because her family were nomads since a while...She loved telling me about her life in a caravan, the freedom she felt then and the hapyness such a free life was filling her...she was great, but though, she had kinda problem living like that --> No bathroom in the caravan, no shower, just water to drink...can you imagine??
I'm not joking...
So let me tell ya that she was a bit embarassed...because she smelled...and obviously (teens can be so stupid sometimes!) my friends were laughing at her, and throwing some hurting words to her...as a matter of fact, as I spend much time by her side, "You will smell the same!! haha!!" They said...I never minded...even if everybody was laughing at us, I knew that it was important to stand for her, because she was great and the fact she smelled because of her parents' way of life did not tell so much about how beautiful her soul was...how brave she was to stand high as well, while hearing all those BS...and most of all I never minded, because it was not FAIR...
I'm glad today, not to have to think about it and be ashamed of myself...of the way I stayed silent...of the way I left her standing alone...I'm so thankful that my parents raised me THAT WAY <3
But, to tell the truth, friends, I've always had courage standing up for what I believe in, when it comes to friends, family even strangers...but when it comes to me...let me tell ya the FEAR...
For example, I wanted to become a surgeon, to learn medicine...
As you may already know, here in France, at the Faculty of Medicine, there use to be some "hazing"...but not a nice game followed by a big party...no!...HARD HAZING...some died ya know...Since there was a lot of deaths, hazing has been forbidden in France, everywhere in France...but it still exists and there are still young people who are tortured and who die to "BE IN"...Hard stuff...
Do you know that in USA?? Do you have to face that kind of problem??
So, this time, I had NO courage for myself!!! I was graduated and I could have became a surgeon...but the FEAR was stronger than the COURAGE...the FEAR was HUGE...I thus studied Biology...which was kind, but not my life...I didn't stand for what I believed in, that time...
Do I regret it?? -->Everyday...
But this time, friends, this time, I decided to be brave, to have courage and to open my arms and my heart to the all world...which seemed to me such an impossible thing --> I'm a WILD THING ya know...
This time, I had courage to do what I believed in and I set up my blog, a blog about what I love, what I make with my hands, a blog about what I am ...no matter what man says, no matter what man thinks...no matter the numbers, the followers , no matter statistics and everything that goes with...I had the courage to be ME and to stand up for what I actually believe in...What a relief!!!! I feel such a freedom friends, let me tell you that THIS IS MY HAPPY PLACE and that I'm so glad I was brave enough to be here right now, having a talk with yall about Courage
"If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough..." Unknown
I can't leave without saying Thank U to Casey Wiegand who has been such an inspiration lastly...her words, (her sweet words) gave me the courage, friends...Let me tell ya that this girl's nickname is COURAGE :) Check her blog here and give her some love...she gives so much love all around <3
I'm linking up with Ashley & The Shine Project who trully is a Angel on Earth...She fights for changes, she fights for fighting all together and see how good we all can do, how lives we all can change by having courage to tell, courage to act, courage to stand up against the Fighting forces of the World...Because we are changes, friends, we, all together, by a word, a smile, an act, ARE CHANGES.
I'll end with the last words of her "Courage" post.
"It takes courage to live every, single day.
